I started boxing 6 or 7 years ago. I started with boxing initially, then transitioning to sparring. With sparring, you are all geared up and going at each other but it’s not a competition – not scoring points. You’re doing the motions of attack and defense but you’re using light blows. About five years ago, I wanted to keep going with Muay Thai but my body wouldn’t recover as quickly as I’d like – I was covered in bruises! I had fallen in love with the Muay Thai way of fitness but not so much with the high contact element of it. So now I work out five days a week.

Andy acknowledges that Drag Racing is not your typical sport, and even though she's always been interested in muscle cars, it wasn't until she started dating her now husband, that she started to drive herself. She's well supported by her male/female crew and passes this support onto the nonprofit organisation, Girls Torque Motorsport (links in article) as their National Marketing Coordinator.
